2026 Salmon Season Update!! WHAT A YEAR!!

It’s been over three years since the state has allowed an “actual” salmon season as 2025 season was just 6 days long… once the season was proposed and finalized this spring, we knew we in for a decent season ; 55,000 fish quota and over 4 months of proposed season!!

The season started off RED HOT (June 27th) , with us along with the fleet returning EARLY with FULL limits for anglers and crew. As we started to work into July, we did see the fishing slow down ; to about the worst we’ve seen since the early 2000’s. Combinations of El Nino factors affecting water and weather temps, did push the salmon farther North (to colder waters). The season did close for the last week of July, where we re-opened on August 1st.

The start of August, and pretty much all of August has been SOLID fishing. Scores range from a fish a rod, all the way to FULL limits again. We began to see the true “HOGS” start making an apperance, with our biggest of the year just shy of 40lbs (38lbs). Our area did hit the quota of 34,900 salmon around the end of August and we did close back down. Not any worry for us as we had another quota of 20,000 salmon for our “Fall” Season here set to open on Sept 1st

September’s season has been nothing short of FANTASTIC!! We’ve had well over a fish a rod basically every trip, with most very close to LIMITS!! Our fall salmon fishary here is truly one of a kind, with big king salmon making their way back to the delta to spawn, aka right next to us!! These healthy fish do not mess around, as they pose one hell of a fight!!

We are awaiting a quota update for September from the state, so once we get that we will have a better idea on the outlook for the rest of the season!!
